1). I enjoy short stories or magazine articles. They are short and sweet and get to point quickly. I enjoy recreiving lots of information in a small ammount of writing. I usually tend to lose interest in longer stories because it just happens slowly.I prefer reading things that tend to my interests, primarily snowboarding articles because its my passion in life. I like to get the heads up on new things, contests, and see how my friends are doing in the business who i rarely see now since they have gone pretty big in the industry. Its nice to get new information on ski towns and where the snow is good and what resorts plan to do in the future. I usually dont like writing outside of school work because i prefer to tend to my hobbies before anything, like snowboarding. If i do write it will probably be list formats about things i plan to do snowboarding. If i write something down, im more likely to remember in the long run, such as writing down a trick i want to do or multiple tricks becasue then ill recall and just go for it.



3. Pick one topic from your list of writing territories, and write about it for 25 minutes. It can be in any form you prefer- a poem (or series of poems), a short story, a narrative, a play, etc.



Im choosing to write about things that bug me in life. I have over the years at highschool and snowboarding that people hate on others way too often for reasons that are just ridiculous. It seems that people will always do this and it just doesnt make sense to me. I know i make fun of people but more of in a jokingly way when im talking about people who truthfully mean it to hurt someone else. More specifically i find it in snowboarding online forums. People just hate on everything from tight pants to baggy pants, what kind of snowboarding you like doing such as powder or street. It just gets on my nerves that people just go out of their way to rip on someone elses style. SNowboarding is supposed to be about individuality and being your ownself. Snowboarding is a sport where you can express who you are through your snowboarding style and what you wear. Its ridiculous that people care so much that they go out of their way to just make someone elses day turn bad. I just dont understand it.

Why is reading so crucial for a writer? Whenever I've heard writers speak--be it playwrights, novelists, or poets--they talk about the importance of reading. In Pat Conroy's memoir My Losing Season, in fact, he goes into great depth about the books he was devouring at that point in his life and what they meant to him.So, talk about the role of reading to the writer and why it is important. If you disagree, then explain why you think OTHERS think it is important. Write at least 100 words.

What limitations about the form did you find frustrating?

3. Great works of literature can last a long time. Jane Austen's novels (including Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Sense and Sensibility) are still popular almost 200 years after they were first published. Anne Bradstreet's poems have survived about 400 years. The works of Greek playwright Euripides (who wrote Medea) have survived for over 2000 years. What do you think causes great literary works to live forever? Could you ever foresee yourself writing something that lasts that long? (Write at least 75 words.)

1). Theme allows the audience to discover the charactesr more in depth because the actors have more to work with with a well developed theme. It makes the story have more emphasis and will allow the actors to truely become in depth with their character. It allows more freedom in the acting because a well developed theme will put more emotion into the characters role. The theme is what the whole plotline is based upon and is what makes the story interesting or not.

2). I would choose a simple theme and try to make it more complicated than what you first appear it as. Possibly doing the right thing Vs. doing the wrong thing but making a storyline that includes muliple conflicts and go past the simple ideas that the theme first presents you with and go more in depth with the situation and try. I would consider adding a rather larger issue because it seems to attract more attention and a wider audience. I would try to achieve the largest audience with somethign basic. I prefer to keep it simple and get the maind ideas down and then pursue something more complicated within that issue.

3). I would include a conflict that is a person Vs. person because its an easier alternative to Person Vs. SElf. I feel that its rather easy to include too much information when having a person vs. self conflict because it gets very personal and in depth and is something that doesnt keep me interested throughout the storyline. I would prefer person Vs person because its easy to go off and create a plotline that isnt quite as basic and personal. It can be a big idea that you just want to go off on and doesnt really have any boundaries and is quite easy to make appealing to a wide audience if thats what your aiming for.

Kiss Me Deadly

I felt that this was an instanct Noir classic. Not only was it slightly different in multiple ways, it was a whole new version of noir in a way. The plotline invovled multiple conflicts that Aldrich had to confrnt at one point or another. Alrich was a perfect character for the part, he seemed to perfect the original noir character. Kind of hidden in the shadows, but at the same time new exactly what to do at any given situation. He was on top of the game and one step ahead of the others. It was somewhat confusing to go from conflict to conflict but i fealt that it through off the typical noir movie and made it its own by re creating but still following basic guidelines of Film Noir.

The characterization is very key to the success of this movie. Aldrich seemd to be at the time, the Under cover detective who knew everything. He rarely messed around and took his issues face to face. Failing wasnt seen as an option in his eyes and he tried very hard to not. I was very inrigued by his different acting compared to Double Indemnity. I noticed multiple similiar traits but his traits just stook out more to me catching my attention for longer times and keeping me inovled in the movie. All in all, Kiss me deadly was a great movie, not my all time favorite but i was very attracted to it by the acting.
